Planning staff introduced the application as a request to expand an existing restaurant space shared by Crafty Cow and Au Lao Oyster, with proposed operating hours of 11 a.m. to midnight. The applicant joined the meeting by Zoom. Applicant Devin Eichler said the space “already exists in the building that we rent” and described the proposal as “essentially like a restaurant within a restaurant or like a speakeasy type thing.”
No members of the public were present in the chambers or on Zoom to speak in favor or opposition, and no e‑comments were received. With no public comment or questions, the mayor closed the hearing and confirmed that the item will appear before the Planning Commission on May 12 and return to the council for consideration on May 20.
What’s next: The Planning Commission will review the conditional-use permit request on May 12. The council may act on the Planning Commission recommendation at its May 20 meeting.
