The project includes a precast-panel storm shelter and new kindergarten classrooms and Kids Place space; contractors said construction sequencing was adjusted to avoid overtime and weekend work that would substantially increase costs.
Contractors said crews are already dismantling the high school home-side bleachers and installing storage and team-room spaces beneath new seating; they noted the existing turf had exceeded its expected life and crews are recycling the turf infill for the new field. Presenters said the stadium work will improve accessibility and provide railings and designated areas for spectators using wheelchairs.
The board then considered and approved bids for the high school restroom renovation project. District staff said bid pricing for the restroom work came in about 15% higher than anticipated but recommended proceeding; the motion to approve passed unanimously.
