The Saint Mary's City Council on April 21 approved the March 17 meeting minutes and awarded 2025 contracts for stone and road oil to the lowest responsible bidders, following staff recommendations.
Council approved the March 17 minutes on a motion by Ned, seconded by Joe. The motion passed by voice vote.
Bids for 2025 stone were opened April 8 and the council awarded contracts to Bucktail Excavators for several limestone grades (number 3, 1B, 2B), DSA and native pit sandstone at the unit prices shown in the packet; Balmer Paving of Saint Mary's was recommended for 2A limestone. The recommendation was moved by Shane and seconded by Tony and passed by voice vote.
The council also awarded 2025 road-oil contracts (bids opened April 8) to Midland Asphalt Materials for E2/E3 and other specified materials and to Russell Standard for RS/CRS products, at the prices submitted; the road-oil recommendation was moved by Shade and seconded by Steven and passed by voice vote.
All three motions were recorded as passing by voice vote; no roll-call tallies were recorded in the public transcript.
