Montebello completes City Park baseball field renovation; grand opening planned

City staff told the Montebello Parks and Recreation Commission that the City Park baseball field renovation funded through the Los Angeles County Regional Parks District Measure A program is complete and a grand opening is planned in early May with the Montebello Baseball Association.
"We actually completed it, and we're looking to have a grand opening ceremony here within the next couple weeks," said David Vestager, director of parks and recreation. Vestager described new outfield turf, a rebuilt infield, bleachers and dugouts and said the city's youth soccer program has used the field for recent programming.
Staff said the city will invite the commission and the public to the grand-opening event; no formal commission vote was associated with the project during this meeting.
