The Omaha City Council approved a slate of consent and planning items by unanimous vote during Monday's meeting. The following items were taken up and approved with little extended debate.
- Item 6: Class C liquor license for Elion, 4915 Underwood Ave (Dundee). Applicant JT Agenor described plans for a wine lounge and upstairs craft-cocktail room with food trucks to offer light bites; he said the business aims to open in July. The council approved the license on a 7–0 roll call.
- Item 7: Class I liquor license for Funny Bone Comedy Club (FBDC of Omaha LLC), 710 N. 114th St., Suite 210. Attorney David Houghton and proprietor Colleen Quinn described an identical Funny Bone concept with an adjacent arcade. Council approved the license 7–0.
- Items 8–9: Sanctuary Ridge Replat 1 (final plat and subdivision-agreement amendment, north of W. Center Rd. and Sanctuary Ridge Dr.). Planning Board and staff recommended approval; council approved 7–0.
- Item 10: Repeal of the PUD overlay district for property at 3819 X Street. Owner Peter Matthews told council the property will be returned to residential use; council approved 7–0.
- Item 11: Rescind PK overlay for property at 3863 Mason Street and 3863 Marcy Street. Applicants represented by Kyle Hazy and Charlie Sullivan said the change will support additional housing near UNMC; council approved 7–0 after neighborhood outreach questions were answered.
- Items 12–13: Amend ACI overlay boundaries and rezone property northeast of 20th & Miami (Carnation Place redevelopment by Swan Development). City staff confirmed the rezoning applies only to Mr. Swan's property; council approved 7–0.
- Consent agenda items 14–22 and items 23–31 were approved as presented on the consent calendar (all roll-call votes were 7–0 where recorded).
- Items 32–33: Special tax assessments for litter/weeds (Litter Group 2025-03 and Weeds Group 2025-04) were approved 7–0.
Several other planning and personnel-classification ordinances (items 34–42) had public hearings or presentations and were placed on final-consideration schedules or approved as indicated on the agenda.
Where items drew public questions, staff and applicants addressed outreach, setback and property-line concerns — for example, on the townhomes proposed near UNMC the developer and city planning staff confirmed no private property would be used and that plans would maintain required setbacks where appropriate.
