KL Engineering’s field work identified an approximate 90‑foot sight‑distance deficit for drivers looking left toward the hotel at the intersection; traffic volumes analyzed would allow an all‑way stop to operate acceptably from an operations standpoint. A nearby resident urged the commission to add additional measures citywide to reduce speeding, including evaluating signal timing on Highway 33, and suggested other calming options such as speed cushions.
Commissioners moved to install a 4‑way stop; the motion passed. Staff and the commission noted future development in the area and asked public‑works staff to confirm the intersection geometry will remain compatible with the stop as adjacent projects build out. The commission’s motion asked staff to implement the stop and to monitor the location for changes in traffic patterns as the neighborhood develops.
