Pool heater outage repaired; parks, splash pad and water treatment updates reported

Parks and public-works staff reported operational updates including a temporary pool closure for heater repairs, irrigation and playground maintenance.

A parks staff member said the pool had been closed since Saturday evening after a heater motor burnout (not the boiler itself). Staff located a replacement motor; a repair costing $675 to rebuild a component was confirmed and installation was scheduled for the following morning. The presenter said a parts-and-labor bid for $2,100 existed but staff expected to handle installation in-house and were seeking to include parts in the budget to reduce future closures. The presenter said pool water fell below 79 degrees, triggering a health-code closure, but staff hoped to reopen the pool on Thursday after the repair.
