Members also approved a three-year agreement with Onondaga County for snow-and-ice removal on a 0.37-mile portion of East Bruce Road in Eanesport. The agreement uses the Onondaga rate of $620.52 per mile; because the segment is roughly a third of a mile the charge is minimal and the committee described the arrangement as a convenience for both counties. The motion was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.
Several personnel and budget items from the public safety/911 packet were approved. The committee authorized filling one JP1 position (conversion to a ‘‘health’’ classification to broaden hiring options), authorized filling a supervising emergency services dispatcher (JP2), and approved a budget amendment allowing the finance director to transfer funds for expanded domestic-violence training for dispatch staff (JP3). Each measure was moved, seconded and approved on the floor; one member voiced opposition during the JP2 vote.
A separate personnel motion (JP5) was also moved, seconded and carried later in the meeting.
The district attorney’s office received committee approval to amend a March resolution so that a grant-funded assistant district attorney position may be filled by a recent law school graduate as a law associate until the appointee passes the New York State Bar and is admitted. The committee approved the change on a motion and second.
