The Parks Advisory Board on April 20 voted to recommend approval to city council for two special-event permits scheduled for May 10, 2025: a Lakeview Estate HOA spring community event at Baldwin Park and a Mission Men of Anna car show at the Municipal Complex.
Jeff Reese, assistant director of neighborhood services, described the Lakeview Estate HOA application as a community spring event at Baldwin Park on May 10 from 2 to 6 p.m., anticipating about 75 participants and listing food trucks including Hawaii 5 Snow and Street Eats, bounce houses, music and games. "The applicant is just asking that the permit is approved, utilizing Baldwin Park for May 10 during 2 to 6 P.M.," Reese said. The board moved and seconded the recommendation; the motion passed.
Reese described the Mission Men of Anna car show application as an event with an overall permit window of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and an event time of about 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring vendors (five vendors reported) plus food and music at the municipal complex. Staff said site-plan details and fee calculations were still being finalized and that any road-closure decisions would be addressed in the logistics review. The board approved recommending the car-show permit to council.
Both recommendations will move to the city council for final action; the board recorded motions and yes votes but did not provide a detailed roll-call tally in the meeting minutes.
