"Our fill rate that year was 77.78" and later rose to 87.27 and 88.74 in subsequent years, the presenters said; they also reported a 96.61 percent fill rate for the current school year. The presentation said Kelly has hired 227 new substitutes in the most recent year, bringing the company's roster to about 370 substitutes assigned to Nash County schools.

Kelly outlined staff supports and benefits offered to its temporary employees, including weekly pay (every Friday), access to health care options, retirement planning through a partner, bonuses and incentives, and periodic recognition efforts (a monthly "sub of the month" program and onsite appreciation visits). Fazio described a Talent/Incident team that handles workman's comp, urgent care referrals, return-to-work accommodations and other incident follow-up so building staff do not have to manage those processes alone.
