Jackson City gives timeline for Tyler ERP rollout; property‑tax conversion delayed by data conversion issues

The staff member said the H&S (commercial garbage) billing and cashiering modules are being configured and that staff training has been intensive: “They have trained 8 hours a day, 2 or 3 days a week for the last month.” The staff member said the goal remains to have core functions in the city’s contracted system by October, with hopes to have staff using property tax in July or August so they are familiar before large mailings.
Staff reported that business license administration implementation is expected to begin in September and that property tax conversion has hit a snag tied to five or six records in the legacy CAMA‑format data. “The conversion is almost done, but it's been almost done for a month and a half,” the staff member said, and staff described programmers working through edge cases such as pilot billings and tax relief records.
The cashiering module, staff said, will be much faster and more intuitive than the city’s current simplified revenue module and will be turned on once the H&S and property tax modules are ready. Purchasing will begin refresher training on requisitions and purchase orders in early May, and staff said a projects module to track long‑term grants and projects is planned.
The committee and staff repeatedly described the overall conversion as arduous but progressing. Staff signaled the implementation risk is tied to data conversion and that they may need vendor assistance if conversion problems persist.
