The Carlisle Area School District finance committee moved through several routine administrative items and flagged them for board action at the upcoming meeting.
Items reviewed and to be placed on the May 15 board agenda for formal approval: - Appointment of trustees to the South Central Trust for the July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026 year. The trustees recommended were board president Paula Bussard, Peggy Bauer, Aaron Hughes and Michael Statler. Committee members said these are current trustees and the recommendation represents no change. - Annual appointment of a board treasurer. The administration recommended Peggy Bauer, the district business manager, continue in the role (the Pennsylvania School Code requires the treasurer not be a board member). - Annual list of financial institutions for district deposits and investments. The administration said the list mirrors the prior year and includes Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust (PLGIT) and school district liquid asset funds used to pool funds for better returns. - Food service contract renewal. Mets Culinary Management, which began operating district food service July 1 of the prior year, was recommended for renewal for the 2025–26 fiscal year under the one‑year renewal options in the contract. The administration characterized Mets’ performance as strong and said the guaranteed amount in the contract is slightly lower to reflect volatile food prices; the administration will present the contract for a vote on May 15.
None of the items were voted at the committee meeting. Committee members said they would bring these routine approvals to the full board for adoption at the May 15 meeting.
