Council accepts right-of-way dedication for Wooden Shoe Lane in Hudson subdivision

Summit County Council approved a road-dedication item to accept a section of right-of-way along Wooden Shoe Lane as part of the Hudson subdivision’s platting process.
County engineering staff explained that the county already owns and maintains Wooden Shoe Lane as a Class B road and typically holds a minimum 60-foot right-of-way, but portions of adjacent parcels historically owned to the center line. The Hudson subdivision preliminary plat included a dedication of the additional right-of-way needed to regularize county ownership along the roadway.
Brandon, county staff engineer, told the council this acceptance corrects ownership boundaries, will be recorded on the plat and helps ensure the county’s ongoing ability to maintain the roadway. Council members discussed process details around plat versus affidavit recordings and confirmed the plat will include dedication language and a signature line for the council chair.
Candace moved to accept the right-of-way dedication; Roger seconded and the council approved the motion by voice vote.
