Summit County Council appoints Christina Miller to Park City Fire Service District control board

Summit County Council members voted to appoint Christina Miller to the Park City Fire Service District Administrative Control Board, approving resolution 2025-11 to fill the unexpired term through Dec. 31, 2026.

Miller, who described herself as an attorney and a former member of the district's administrative control board, told the council she wanted to rejoin to provide institutional knowledge and continuity while a new fire chief settles into the role. "I also think it's incredibly helpful for consistency, particularly with a new chief on board," Miller said during her interview.

In the interview, Miller cited long involvement in local civic organizations, previous experience on the fire board and a focus on fiscal responsibility and leadership development within the district. She said she appreciated that district leaders "came into every meeting with an eye towards protecting the public interest, not just from the serve and protect standpoint of firefighting, but from a school standpoint." Council members who spoke in favor praised her competence and community service.

The council conducted the appointment without public comment. Roger moved the resolution to appoint Miller and Candace seconded; the motion carried with the council voting "Aye." The resolution lists the term to expire Dec. 31, 2026.

Council members encouraged Miller to follow up with the new chief and the district chair about closer coordination with the county and to attend fire-district work sessions. Miller said she would do so if appointed.
