Waukesha, Wis. — The Waukesha City Ordinance and Licensing Committee approved several license and agent-change applications on April 28, voting unanimously on routine and invited applications after brief presentation and staff review.
The committee approved a bartender license for Melissa Corrigan. Committee members noted Corrigan had a single past alcohol-related offense and that she had held a bartender license within the previous two years; one member moving approval cited that history and the committee adopted the motion. "She has held her bartender's license within the last 2 years," a committee member said when making the motion to approve.
The committee also approved a Class B beer and Class C (liquor, wine only) license for Grama Duckies Desserts. Owner Melissa Lugo told the committee she has operated in Waukesha for four-and-a-half years and recently moved to a location more suited to sit-down breakfast and lunch service; she said the new location is near the former Pat's Ribs and adjacent to Sherwin-Williams on the city's south side. "I've actually been in Waukesha for 4 and a half years now ... my location now is better served for sit down and lunch, breakfast," Lugo said.
The committee approved a successor-of-agent application for Walgreens store number 07730 after staff confirmed the agent completed responsible beverage server training. The committee approved two private alarm registrations (ADT Bridal Alarm System and Interface Security Systems LLC) and a separate motion approved Interface Security Systems LLC's private alarm system registration. All motions passed unanimously without extended discussion.
Motions and seconds recorded in the transcript show Alderson Helvins Laban and Alderson Mannion voted on multiple routine approvals; minutes indicate unanimous passage for the non-controversial items. The committee noted that the next full council meeting will be available the following Wednesday to take any items requiring full council action.
