Students from Huron High School reported accomplishments of the new International Culture Club, including fundraising and cultural activities.
Cheiley Saw, the club secretary, and Paul Bora, the club president, told the board the club formed in the fall and has completed three projects: a successful food sale during conferences that raised about $500 in roughly two hours; a Valentine's Day volunteer project making and distributing culture-specific goodie bags; and a cultural fashion show featuring traditional dress and dance with top-three placings and audience-selected favorites. Club membership was reported at "over 80," though officers said some attendees are informal and not on membership rolls.
Students said the club's activities aim to celebrate diversity, raise funds and build community among students and staff. Board members thanked the students for the report.
