Tahoe board approves staff policies, conflict-of-interest update and routine consent items; hears finance, community and patient-care updates

The Tahoe Board of Directors on the April meeting approved multiple routine and medical-staff items by unanimous vote and heard updates on the district's investment portfolio, potential federal Medicaid and Medicare changes, and community fundraising for immigration legal aid.

Board members approved closed-session items, the Medical Executive Committee report (including minor policy revisions), the consent calendar and an updated conflict-of-interest code, each by 5-0 votes. The board also received a timed investment briefing from Chandler Investments and heard several public comments praising patient care and describing a fast community fundraising effort that raised matching funds for immigration legal services.

The board opened by reporting that three items considered in closed session ' closed-session minutes, an annual infection-control report and medical-staff credentialing ' were each approved 5-0.
