The motion cited Code of Virginia authority and instructed staff to base a draft on the Planning Commission’s February resolution.
Commissioners approved the motion on a roll-call vote. Planning staff said the next steps are to draft a potential ordinance, bring it back to the Planning Commission for consideration and discussion, advertise any public hearing when appropriate, and then forward a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors. Staff estimated the drafting and advertisement would take a few months before a public hearing might be scheduled.
No substantive ordinance text was adopted at the meeting; the action initiates the process and directs staff work and future hearings.
