Veterans group presses board to finish Nob Hill Park memorial after contractor-extension vote stalled

He said the group secured a $25,000 grant from Assemblymember Monica Wallace five years ago, a donated flagpole and donated landscaping, and that the remaining needs were a concrete foundation and electric work for the flagpole. Degar said those final steps stalled after the town did not extend the contractor’s term. "What we needed was the foundation for the monument, and they were gonna run electric for the flagpole. And that came to a screeching halt by not extending that contract," he said.
