Board swears in four new members and one reappointment; approves November 2024 meeting minutes

The California Physician Assistant Board used part of its April 21 meeting to introduce four newly appointed members and one reappointed member, read biographical summaries for each, and administer the oath of office.
The board read bios for the newly appointed members: Philip DiVizio (supervising physician assistant; assistant professor at A.T. Still University College of Health Sciences), Eric Bergenson (regional medical director, Long Beach), Edwin Perez (labor relations/managerial background, Sacramento) and Bob Na Parkech (physician assistant and program manager for an adult congenital heart program and supervising PA at The Permanente Medical Group). The board also administered the oath of office to Diego Enzunza, reappointed by the governor; staff read his professional background including emergency department and outreach work.
Earlier in the meeting the board considered and approved the minutes of its Nov. 8, 2024 meeting. The approval passed on roll call with members recorded as voting aye: Juan Armenta; Eric Bergenson; Philip DiVizio; Diego Insunta; Vasco Deonkiewicz; Edwin Perez; Bhavna Prakash. (Deborah Snow was reported absent for the roll call on that vote.)
The new and reappointed members were welcomed by the board president and staff and will join committees and board activities as the board assigns committee membership.
