The Pinellas County School Board recorded the following formal actions on April 22, 2025.
• Agenda adoption — Adopted the meeting agenda by voice vote. Motion made by Board member Kane and seconded by Board member Long. Vote: 7–0.
• Consent agenda — Approved the consent agenda. Motion from Board member Blacksburg and seconded by Board member Meyer. Vote: 7–0.
• Proclamation: Teacher Appreciation Week — The board approved a proclamation designating the week of May 5–9, 2025 as Pinellas County Schools Teacher Appreciation Week and May 6, 2025 as Pinellas County Schools Teacher Appreciation Day. Motion from Board member Kane, seconded by Vice Chair Caprice Edmond. Vote: 7–0. The proclamation text read, in part, that teachers “open children’s minds to the magic of ideas, knowledge, and dreams” and that the board “proclaims the week of May 2025 as teacher appreciation week and Tuesday, 05/06/2025 as Pinellas County Schools' teacher appreciation day.”
• Item 8.1 — Request approval of the tentative 2025–26 referendum memorandum of understanding agreements with bargaining units PCTA, PESPA, SEIU and FOP. Motion by Vice Chair Caprice Edmond; second by Board member Peters. Vote: 7–0. Human Resources reported ratification results and proposed annual distribution amounts to support staff and teachers; implementation to begin July 2025.
