Keizer council accepts two neighborhood association annual reports and extends recognition

COUNCIL ACTION ON NEIGHBORHOOD REPORTS: At its April 21 meeting the Keizer City Council accepted annual reports and extended recognition to the West Keizer Neighborhood Association and the Greater Gubser Neighborhood Association.
Why it matters: Neighborhood associations provide outreach, safety programs, and park and school collaboration; council recognition keeps associations eligible for city support and meeting space.
West Keizer Neighborhood Association President Rhonda Rich summarized 2024 activities including school partnerships (safe routes to school, supply efforts), parks work, outreach (email list ~275 subscribers, 410 Facebook followers) and food-barrel collections (2024 totals reported as £3,160 and $414). The council moved and seconded a motion to accept the West Keizer report and extend recognition; the motion passed unanimously.
Greater Gubser Neighborhood Association President Patty Tischer reported similar outreach and budget stewardship, noting a corrected expense total of $440 to date and an intention to hold larger yard-sign purchases until a vendor is selected. Council moved and seconded to accept the Greater Gubser report and extend recognition; that motion also passed unanimously.
Council president Starr asked for the motions and each was adopted without objection. Councilors asked questions about neighborhood outreach channels and thanked volunteers for community work.
