Cass County commissioners approve a package of routine contracts, safety inspections and health agreements

The Cass County Commission on April 16 approved a series of routine contracts and interagency agreements covering equipment purchases, health-department training, emergency-management planning and facility maintenance.

The actions, taken by unanimous 3-0 votes, included purchases under state bids, renewal or new service agreements and a memorandum of understanding that county staff said would support state funding eligibility.

The most substantive explanations came from emergency-management and health-department staff. Emergency management staff member Dustin described the county's adoption of the regional multi-hazard mitigation plan as a routine update, saying it was “more to play it safe than sorry.” Health Department staff member Sarah said a contract amendment with the Missouri Department of Social Services will allow the health department to provide CPR and first-aid training to foster parents at no cost and that “this renews for our next contract period starting, July 1 through June thirtieth of 2026.”
