BZA approves on-site double-stack sign permit on U.S. 29 in Bannister

On Oct. 16, 2025, the Pittsylvania County Board of Zoning Appeals approved a sign permit for Capital Outdoor Advertising for an on-site double-stack illuminated sign on U.S. Highway 29 in the Bannister Election District.
Michael Russo told the board the sign would match the design and lighting approach of the previously approved permit and that the planning commission had recommended approval 7–0. The board approved the permit without conditions and wished the applicant success.
Staff will proceed with the normal permitting and inspection process to ensure compliance with Pittsylvania County sign regulations.
