Grant County Fiscal Court actions: minutes, claims, surplus items and closed session motion

The Grant County Fiscal Court took several routine but formal actions at its Oct. 21 meeting: it approved special meeting minutes from Oct. 3, authorized payment of claims for multiple county funds, declared sheriff’s office and courthouse equipment surplus for auction, and voted to go into closed session under Kentucky law to discuss property.

Minutes and claims: the court voted to approve the special meeting minutes dated Oct. 3, 2025, and then approved claims on the general fund, road fund and jail fund, together with transfers presented and dated Oct. 21, 2025. Both motions were moved and seconded and carried on unanimous voice votes.

Surplus declarations and auction: the court declared two Grant County Sheriff’s Office vehicles surplus per the listed attachment; staff said one sheriff’s vehicle will be transferred to the county jail for transports and the other vehicle will be sold at the county surplus auction scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Grant County Road Department. The court also declared a courthouse salt‑box spreader and a John Deere Gator surplus; those items likewise will be offered at the same auction.

Executive session motion: the court approved a motion to enter closed session pursuant to KRS 61.81(1)(b) to discuss property matters. A second was offered and the court recorded a unanimous voice vote to move into closed session.

Other routine matters: the judge executive read a proclamation declaring October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and introduced Mike Drysdale as the county’s representative on the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Airport Board; those items were presented as proclamations and introductions, not votes.
