The Gambling Control Board on an otherwise routine agenda approved a series of exhibits including transfers of gambling funds, property and capital asset expenditures, contributions to licensed organizations, several fund-loss requests and multiple license matters, and denied a separate fund-loss request for the Swanville Lions Club. A prior fund-loss denial for the Eagan Lions Club remained in place after the board declined to reopen that case.
Board members voted on each exhibit by motion and voice vote. For multiple items the chair called for “aye” and, hearing none opposed, declared the motion passed.
The board approved Exhibit A, a transfer of gambling funds to an organization account; Exhibit C, property and capital asset expenditure requests; Exhibit I, exclusive-use LPE requests; Exhibit K, contributions of gambling funds to another licensed organization; a fund-loss request listed as Exhibit M; Exhibit Q, a license termination; Exhibit S, manufacturer-related approvals; and Exhibit U2, distribution/license renewals or method-of-sale/transfer matters. The board denied Exhibit N, a fund-loss request related to the Swanville Lions Club. For an earlier item—license number 02228, Eagan Lions Club—the board discussed a reconsideration request but left the original fund-loss denial standing because no motion to reopen was made.
Assistant Attorney General Leah Hedman informed the board staff was available to summarize case facts if members wanted a refresher before reconsideration votes; Brett McKeever, compliance enforcement manager, told members there were no new findings in that file beyond prior investigative reports. Board member Mr. English and other members praised staff for detailed, individual review of each fund-loss matter and noted members could request packet information through data-practices channels.
The board set its next meeting for Monday, May 19 at 10 a.m. at the Gambling Control Board offices and adjourned without further public comment.
