Supporters emphasized the likely life‑saving impact of faster response times for traffic accidents and medical emergencies along the 31W corridor and in West Point.
A public commenter from West Point who spoke during the citizens’ remarks earlier in the meeting praised the interlocal agreement as “enormous” and said the anticipated reduction in response time is “life and death.” The judge and magistrates described the change as a “game changer” for residents and travelers in that area.
