Abington board approves personnel actions, routine finance items and ratifies three‑year teachers’ contract

At its April 22, 2025 meeting the Abington Board of School Directors approved a slate of routine personnel and financial items and ratified a three‑year collective bargaining agreement with the Abington Education Association (AEA) covering July 1, 2025–June 30, 2028.

What the board approved

- Personnel: The board approved changes in personnel as reflected in personnel addendums 5.1 and 5.1a. The agenda included leaves of absence, retirements and other routine personnel changes. The motion to approve personnel passed on a roll-call vote; all voting members present recorded “Aye.”

- Financial reports and bills: The board approved the financial report for the period ending March 31, 2025 (addendum 6.1) and approved payment of bills for the same period (addendum 7.1). CFO Christopher Lionetti summarized the March 2025 financial report, saying year-to-date total revenue was $165.2 million and real estate tax collections were about $6 million ahead of the same period in 2024.
