The Nolensville Board of Commissioners on May 1 approved first reading of Ordinance 25‑23, amending Title 15, Chapter 6 to prohibit parking on Eden Rose Drive (from Queen Anne's Court to Bridal Downs Drive) during designated school hours. Commissioners amended the ordinance to set the no‑parking times to 7 a.m.–9 a.m. and 2 p.m.–4 p.m., and passed first reading unanimously.
The board took testimony from neighborhood residents and an HOA representative who described parked cars on both sides of Eden Rose that obstruct drivers’ lines of sight at a school crosswalk. One resident who said she lives at the crosswalk told commissioners, "These kids... they can't see cars coming. The cars coming from either side can't see a kid coming. It's just a recipe for disaster." The board temporarily suspended the usual speaking order to allow the resident to address the commission during the ordinance discussion.
Town staff said the painted curbs and the HOA’s request prompted the town to formalize no‑parking signage so the restrictions are enforceable by the town rather than only by HOA rules. Staff also explained the crosswalk location and agreed to evaluate whether an additional marked crosswalk where the school sidewalk exits could be added administratively by engineering staff.
Commissioners discussed whether the restriction should be time‑limited (to school hours) or a full no‑parking zone; they adopted the time‑limited approach consistent with other neighborhoods and to allow occasional overflow parking outside of school drop‑off/pick‑up times.
Ending: The first reading passed unanimously; the ordinance will return for public hearing and second reading as required. Staff will review the crosswalk request and follow up on signage and enforcement planning.
