Berry said the authority currently serves "about 238 to 245 families" and described outreach measures to recruit landlords across the county.
Berry said the certification is a paperwork step that allows the judge to sign on behalf of the county to indicate agreement between the PHA plan and the county—s consolidated strategy. The judge told the court she preferred transparency and wanted the certification to come before the court before signing.
The court approved the motion to grant the judge authority to sign the certification; commissioners voted in favor by voice vote. No opposing votes were recorded in the meeting record.
