Easton Area School District honors science fair participants, scholar-athletes and state wrestling champions

The Easton Area School District used its April 29 meeting to recognize student achievements in science, athletics and the arts.
Superintendent Doctor Boltz opened the recognitions with a moment of silence for John Border, a former district security staff member and longtime Easton Police Department chief who passed away. The board then invited Mr. Geiger to introduce science teacher Mr. Brown, who described the district's growing science fair participation.
“Hello, everybody. It’s nice to be back with some more students this year,” Mr. Brown said. Brown told the board the science fair program more than doubled from the previous year; nine students began projects in late summer, researched and conducted experiments, and presented posters at the Lehigh Valley Science Fair at Lehigh University. Brown said all nine students placed in the top three of their grade-level categories at Lehigh Valley and advanced to the Delaware Valley Science Fair; he noted one student, Aliyah Sales, received a monetary first-place award from the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers.
Doctor Boltz and athletics director Doctor Boltz (presentation roles carried in the transcript as "Doctor Boltz" and "Dr. Boltz") then recognized winter scholar-athletes and championship wrestlers. The board acknowledged scholar-athletes across multiple sports, including Sienna Morton (cheerleading), Mara Case (girls wrestling and the EPC overall scholar athlete), Ashar Williams (boys basketball), Corinne Karoo (girls basketball), Jacob Brunetti (boys swimming and diving scholar-athlete), and Quentin Hammerstone (boys wrestling and EPC overall scholar athlete). Jacob Brunetti joined the meeting later and was recognized in person.
The board also honored individual state wrestling champions: Aubrey Krazer, who earned a second overall PIAA Girls Wrestling State Championship and additional scholastic and international recognitions; and Nicola Salomon, who won a PIAA state championship in boys wrestling. The board noted both champions will be honored at the state capitol and that the champions had thrown first pitches at a local IronPigs game as part of their recognition. The board also recognized Ryan Pomerinca, girls wrestling head coach, who was named PIAA Girls Wrestling Coach of the Year and District 11 Coach of the Year in his first year as head coach.
The meeting concluded the superintendent's report by announcing upcoming district events, including a Little Rock Nine awards ceremony and calendar confirmations for the end of the school year.
No formal board action was required to present these recognitions.
