The Nevada Senate convened April 29, 2025, called roll and, with 21 senators present, introduced Senate Bill 460 and a large set of Assembly bills and formally referred them to standing committees.
Senate Majority Leader Nicole J. Cannizzaro moved the referral of Senate Bill 460 (BDR 3416) to the Senate Committee on Education; the presiding officer announced there were no objections and the referral was ordered. Earlier in the session, Senator Scheibel moved that individuals noted on the chamber screen be accredited as press; the motion carried on a voice vote.

Examples listed on the floor include: Assembly Bill 201 (Roth) to Judiciary; Assembly Bill 202 (Brown May) to Commerce and Labor; Assembly Bill 205 (Goulding) to Education; Assembly Bill 209 (Ortlicker) to Judiciary (providing immunity from criminal liability for engaging in prostitution or solicitation for prostitution); Assembly Bill 315 (Edgeworth) to Health and Human Services (Medicaid provider verification); Assembly Bill 377/383/396-style entries on education and housing were referred to Education or Government Affairs as noted on the paper. The clerk also read Assembly bills relating to public safety, utilities, broadband access, and school-bus infraction detection systems, each followed by a named committee referral.
A floor motion later moved to refer the full list of Assembly bills as printed on the senators' papers; the presiding officer asked for objections, and, seeing none, the referrals were ordered. The session record notes a waiver signed by Senate Majority Leader Nicole J. Cannizzaro and Assembly Speaker Steve Yeager effective April 29, 2025, for the procedural treatment of BDR 3416 (SB460) under joint standing rules.
At the close of the brief floor session, Senator Nicole J. Cannizzaro moved that the Senate adjourn until 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2025; the motion carried.
The referrals do not themselves enact policy. Each bill must proceed through committee hearings and any subsequent floor action. Committee agendas will determine which of the introduced measures receive hearings and potential amendments.
