The Katy City Council on April 28, 2025 approved a package of ordinances and resolutions including a zoning amendment for the Katy Court Planned Development District, multiple interlocal agreements to build trail segments, professional services agreements for park improvements and a construction-administration services contract for the Lehi Station rehabilitation project.
The council voted to amend the zoning ordinance for the Katy Court Planned Development District to add a community monument sign and adjust certain development requirements. Council member Gina Hicks moved the ordinance; Mayor Pro Tem Chris Harris seconded. The ordinance text, as read into the record, includes a $2,000 daily penalty for violations of the ordinance. The amendment had been recommended by the city planning and zoning commission on April 8, 2025.
Council members approved a consent agenda that included routine items and then passed a series of trail-system interlocal agreements that had been tabled on April 14. Resolutions authorizing the mayor to sign interlocal agreements were approved for Harris Waller County Municipal Utility District No. 2 (Falls at Green Meadows), Municipal Utility District No. 3 (Cane Island) and an agreement with Fawn Lake Homeowners Association for a pathway.
