Superintendent Dr. Catherine Brenner told the board Konstien resigned after receiving military relocation orders for her spouse that required an immediate move out of state. The resignation letter and the administration’s memo cited the military orders as the reason for the request to waive liquidated damages. The administrative recommendation, presented by Dr. Brenner, was to accept the resignation and waive the liquidated-damages provision.
Board member Paul Cleven moved acceptance of the recommendation; Mr. Anderson seconded. The board voted by roll call to approve the resignation and waive liquidated damages (one board member absent).
