The board publicized two near‑term meetings: a public forum on the Millis High School schematic design on Thursday, May 1 at 7 p.m. in the Millis Middle‑High School auditorium, and the annual Town Meeting on Monday, May 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the same auditorium. The board reminded residents that the May 12 election follows and that the next select board meeting is scheduled for May 19.
The Department of Public Works update included implementation of a new watering restriction bylaw taking effect May 1: two watering days per week on an odd/even schedule with one day of no watering, and new signs and online notices planned. Officials said the town submitted a requisition for PFAS work and has already received federal reimbursement funds into the town bank.
DPW staff reported work with contractor J.A. J.H. Lynch on paving Route 109; the contractor is on the town’s list and an estimate of $1,870,000 for milling and paving was cited. Officials also discussed transfer station finances and signaled a likely future proposal to raise bag prices and disposal fees; any fee increase would require a public hearing.
The board agreed to continue a hearing on a package store license transfer and change of manager to Monday, May 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the Millis Middle‑High School library so abutters and interested parties have formal notice.
