Board approves outdoor seating and use of town parking for two downtown eateries

The Millis Select Board voted to permit outdoor seating for Napa Tandy's and Cravings and to allow use of a portion of town‑owned parking behind the businesses.
Town staff said the arrangement began during COVID and has been popular. Because Napa Tandy's will serve alcohol in the outdoor area, the board's approval also expands the business' liquor license service area as required by the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission rules.
The board approved two related motions: one granting outdoor seating for the restaurants and a second authorizing the use of the town parking area for that seating. Both votes were unanimous and the approvals were framed as one‑year permissions the board can revisit if parking impacts arise.
Town officials said parking remains sufficient under the current configuration and the town can revisit the authorization if it causes future problems.
