The Millis Select Board voted unanimously to ratify the town administrator's appointment of Robert Fogarty as the town's building commissioner.
Town Administrator (presenter) said Fogarty has worked for the town since February 2020, first as a local inspector, then as an alternate building commissioner and acting building commissioner. The administrator said Fogarty "successfully received a certification as a building commissioner in Massachusetts" and has more than 30 years of experience in building and construction trades.
A board member moved to ratify the appointment and another seconded. The board voted "Aye. Unanimous," and the chair congratulated Fogarty.
Robert Fogarty addressed the board briefly and said he was "looking forward to getting in, getting to work next Monday on a full time basis." The action makes Fogarty the permanent building commissioner and moves his position into the town's full‑time management staff structure.
The board did not attach additional conditions to the ratification; staffing and operational questions will be handled by the town administrator and relevant departments.
