San Miguel County commissioners enter executive session to review Sewer Authority MOU

SAN MIGUEL COUNTY, Colo. — The San Miguel County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously April 28 to enter an executive session to review a draft memorandum of understanding among the county, the Alexanders and Mountain Village related to a regional wastewater treatment plant.

Presiding Commissioner Brown asked for a motion to move into executive session, citing "citation 4 b, conference with an attorney, and 4 e, determining negotiation strategies." A motion was made and seconded; commissioners voted "Aye" and the presiding officer announced, "We are now going into executive session." The count on the record was three affirmative votes and the board left the public meeting room for a closed session.

Commissioners said they intended to report back publicly when the executive session concluded. As Brown told listeners on the public stream, "we will report out when we are done, but I do not know exactly what time that would be." The meeting was scheduled to conclude at 11 a.m.

Because the discussion occurred in executive session, the board did not discuss or disclose details of the memorandum of understanding, negotiation positions, or attorney communications in the public record.
