Developers revise Jade Estates concept plan after Planning & Zoning denial; board offers feedback, no final approval
Summary
Developers presented a revised concept for Jade Estates — a proposed duplex community — after the Planning and Zoning Commission voted 8–0 to deny an earlier proposal; the Village Board provided feedback but took no final action.
Developers of the proposed Jade Estates subdivision presented a revised concept plan to the Village of Oswego Board of Trustees at the board’s May 2025 meeting following an 8–0 denial by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The latest concept shows 56 duplex units on an eight-acre portion of an existing 10-acre parcel, with roughly two acres reserved for Wolfs Crossing/Douglas Road and a planned roundabout. The developer said the revision reduced density from an earlier 66-unit proposal, added some public streets and created a second access point; they also said unit plans will generally be about 1,800 to 2,000 square feet and aimed at “empty nesters” while remaining for-sale duplexes.
