Planning staff presented case 2503 SUP, a request for a specific use permit to allow the continued operation of an automobile repair business under new ownership at 318 South Industrial Boulevard. Staff said the property is zoned C-2 (Community Business) and an SUP is required when ownership of an existing auto-repair business changes.
Staff described the facility as an almost 4,000-square-foot repair shop with interior-only operations. The applicant, Brian Sheets of Euless Automotive LLC, was present. Staff said the business employs three employees and operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Planning and Zoning recommended approval to council with five conditions: (1) tie the SUP to the business name AMCO Transmissions; (2) tie the SUP to the business owner Euless Automotive LLC; (3) prohibit outdoor service or repair of vehicles; (4) prohibit outdoor storage of vehicles, parts or merchandise, including in the fire lane; and (5) allow revocation of the SUP if any condition is violated.
Council opened the public hearing and heard no proponents or opponents. Mayor Pro Tem Patel moved to approve; Council member Maziz seconded. The council approved the ordinance on first and final reading; staff and council welcomed the new owner to Euless.
