Kings County supervisors approved a notice of non-appropriation on April 22 after the county's Central Services stopped doing county printing and scanning functions on Aug. 31, 2024, prompting a proposed budget reduction.
John Devlin, the county chief information officer, said the print-shop functions had ceased and the county reduced the related budget. He told the board the fiscal impact is an annual reduction of $153,370 in budget unit 195400 (Central Services) reflecting the cessation of those functions and a reduction of physical space. Time and cost-recovery estimates charged as internal-service fund transfers had been adjusted in the FY2024-25 adopted budget, Devlin said.
Staff recommended the board approve the non-appropriation of funds for fiscal years 2025-26 and 2026-27 for print-shop functions. The board voted to approve the notice on a roll call vote.
