In total, the day’s cash box receipts for the book sale and related activities were $704.50; the silent auction accounted for $373 of that day’s receipts in the cash box and additional $1,200 specifically from the five paintings.
Why it matters: Board members described the programming as valuable community offerings — summer reading and youth-engagement programs were singled out — and said the endowment remains healthy despite a reduced annual basic IMLS grant.
