Director Chang described agency involvement in city and regional initiatives, including support for Caltrain electrification and roles in planning to electrify Muni’s fleet. Chang said the authority provided $1,200,000 in TNC tax and Proposition L sales tax funds to SFMTA’s Vision Zero Quick Build and School Engineering Programs to add daylighting, curb changes and related treatments at more than 300 intersections. He also reported support of $460,000 in sales and Proposition L funds for the Alemany Boulevard quick‑build project, which includes restriping, new bus boarding islands and K‑rail bikeway protection.
Chang described regional and international coordination: staff are participating in federal policy discussions and coordinating meetings tied to a Bay Area delegation to Japan that includes Commissioner Mandelmann; staff also noted outreach with CalSTA and Japanese trade and railway officials on rail decarbonization and financing.
The executive director highlighted two public‑facing opportunities: applications are open through May 19 to serve on the Gary Fillmore Community Council working group for the federally funded Geary Boulevard study (between Laguna and Divisadero); and a procurement outreach “meet the buyers” forum and a Northern California owners night to share upcoming procurements were announced for April 24 and future dates.
