Postage meter and clerk's office
Hansen told commissioners that the county's postage meter used by the clerk's office will not comply with new USPS printing rules when it expires in June; the county will need a new meter. He said that the clerk's current vendor appeared to be a Kansas City vendor and Century Business would check for more local vendors and imaging partners.
Public health firewall and HIPAA concerns
Hansen said the vendor has been coordinating with the public health office on privacy and HIPAA concerns. A firewall installation is a near‑term priority to make public‑health systems HIPAA‑compliant; Hansen said the vendor is working with the county and state application contacts to resolve software compatibility issues that previously hindered firewalls from operating with state programs.
Asset management, offboarding and servers
Century Business reported progress on a county asset management list and on a planned refresh of county computers. Hansen recommended earlier notification of employee offboarding so IT can revoke access, reassign Microsoft licenses, and preserve institutional data. He also said one of the two on‑premises Dell servers is outside standard contract scope and Century Business is evaluating options for its future.
Other items
Hansen raised Wi‑Fi coverage options for the courthouse, noting the county's preference for wired Ethernet where possible. He said two projects previously proposed would require out‑of‑scope work and that the vendor will schedule configuration and replacement work once parts are available.

The commission accepted the update; no formal vote was required. Commissioners asked staff and the vendor to follow up on the postage‑meter replacement, firewall installation timeline for the public health office, and employee offboarding coordination.
