The Winnebago County Board approved plans and specifications to add a local paving project—referred to as LFM, Rake Area 7×95—into existing road-construction contracts.
County staff said the board will ask the two contractors awarded earlier contracts (Industrial and Hugo Brothers) to add this work by splitting the new work along the same work types as the original contracts. The project covers multiple segments including a portion of 500th Street (March 20 to March 30), Grama Street (excluding the in-town concrete portion) and 30th Avenue from parcel 500 down to 816; the work will include milling and overlay (hot-mix asphalt) consistent with the original contract scope.
Board member Jones moved to approve the plans and specifications; Derby seconded. The motion carried with board members voting aye.
Staff said they will secure the required signatures on the official plan copies and will contact the contractors to add the work. A landowner on R20 asked whether the contractor could be asked to address a driveway grade; staff said they would pass contact information to the contractor so the landowner could follow up.
No dollar amounts were specified at the meeting; staff said the intent is to negotiate additions to the existing contracts and follow existing contractual rates and divisions of work.
