Students and parents urge Manor ISD board to retain Manor Early College principal

Speakers said Dr. Sadikova has provided close, ongoing support to scholars and families and that removing her because of budget changes would harm students’ progress and morale. "I've been to 13 schools all my life and Dr. Sadikova is the only principal I've had that has truly cared about us," student Iman Hussein told the board. "She would do anything for us."
Parents described frequent, rapid responses from the principal to family concerns and credited her with building supports that help students succeed. "She is a mentor. She is a parent. She is a teacher," Najma Hussein said. "She is available 24 hours, seven days a week." Another parent, Vanessa Ignacio, told trustees that large numbers of scholars graduate from the program with both a high school diploma and an associate degree, and said, "No one is more qualified, more proven, and more deserving of that role" should the district consolidate principal roles.
Students emphasized Dr. Sadikova's hands-on leadership in the early college program, citing mental-health supports and consistency that they say directly affect attendance and achievement. "Removing her is not a solution to these financial struggles," Wilfredo Mendez said. "It's a loss of direction to all the students who are sitting here today."
Speakers requested the board consider Dr. Sadikova for broader principal responsibilities if the district moves to consolidate leadership roles, or to preserve her at Manor Early College rather than reassigning or removing her. Board members did not make a public decision during the forum; trustees moved later in the meeting to closed session business and personnel actions.
The public comments came during the meeting's public forum, item 11.6 on the agenda, and several students and parents who spoke identified themselves as scholars or family members of Manor Early College attendees. The superintendent later noted that some budget decisions under consideration are intended to balance the district's budget for 2025–26.
