Surry County commissioners approve agenda, minutes, consent items and several board appointments

The Surry County Board of Commissioners on April 21 approved the meeting agenda, accepted the April 7 minutes, carried the consent agenda and confirmed several board appointments.
The consent agenda, presented by County Manager Chris Knauth, included end-of-month tax department summaries, a 2025 National Day of Prayer proclamation, funding to add a visual barrier at the sheriff's sally port, a litter-pickup bid award to the incumbent contractor, budget amendment No. 12 (a salary-reserve COLA amendment) and budget amendment No. 13 (carrying forward Invest in Surry spending). On appointments, the board reappointed Andy Simpson and David Bledsoe to three-year terms on the Agricultural Advisory Board.
