A motion to accept the grant was made, seconded and approved by voice vote; the chair announced, “the ayes have it.”
The presenter said the award was received a few weeks earlier and described it as the county’s first Gold Leaf grant. The board did not add conditions to the acceptance during the meeting.
The board’s action authorizes county staff to complete required grant paperwork and carry out site due diligence using the Gold Leaf funds. No additional county general-fund dollars were identified in the discussion as being required for this grant.
The decision will allow the county to proceed with preliminary studies at the Burnett Road site, a step often required before further planning or development decisions.
