Madison County supervisors approve range of motions including courthouse bid advertising, land plats and road-plan additions

Madison County Board of Supervisors members on April 21 approved a series of formal actions including authorization to advertise construction bids for a renovation of the county’s circuit courthouse, several subdivision plats, additions to the county road plan and routine budget and claims items.

The board voted unanimously to allow county staff to advertise for construction bids on the circuit courthouse renovation project, which the county architect said will be a full interior renovation with an addition and an estimated construction period of 13–14 months. The board also approved multiple land-planning items and road-plan changes, and approved several financial dockets and payments.

The meeting’s most significant formal actions and outcomes were:

- Circuit courthouse renovation: The board voted to advertise for construction bids for a full renovation and addition to the county’s circuit courthouse. County consultants presented schematic plans and a project budget estimate; the board moved and approved the advertisement for bids.

- Subdivision plats: The board approved preliminary and final plats for Robin Wood (3 lots, ~23.4 acres, no public infrastructure) and White Oak Farms Phase 1 (12 lots, 72.46 acres, no public infrastructure). Each plat passed on motion and second with an aye vote.
