The Muscatine County auditor's office told the Board of Supervisors on Oct. 20 that Oct. 20 is the deadline to submit a request for an absentee ballot to be mailed for upcoming elections. Requests must be in the auditor’s office by 5 p.m. that day for a mailed ballot; ballots requested by mail the same day will be processed and mailed as time allows.
The auditor's office also announced a public test of voting machines scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 23, at 8:30 p.m. The public and board members were invited to watch the test, which is part of routine election preparation and results verification.
